The food sector is the largest industry in the Netherlands. Food safety, quality, regulations and sustainability is an everyday task in this sector. Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) play an important role in this.

What is Quality Assurance?
Quality Assurance is about monitoring products and services before production begins. Standards are set for all production, transportation and final product quality procedures. These standards come from regulations or customer requirements. Procedures are established based on these regulations and included in a Quality Management System (QMS). The ISO 9001 standard is the most common certification for the food sector and the overarching framework.
What is Quality Control?
While Quality Assurance focuses on regulations, Quality Control focuses on monitoring quality during production. This includes carrying out inspections or taking sample tests on semi-finished products or ingredients. If necessary, adjustments will be made after these tests.
