Our client is an innovative company! In recent years their fleet has almost doubled from 15 to 30 gas carriers. Dynamic and innovative projects make them frontrunners in their market. This is most visible in the Small-Scale LNG carriers and LNG-fueled Ethylene carriers they operate.

They are expanding their fleet in Europe besides pursuing opportunities in Asia, the Pacific and the Caribbean. The company is growing! Over the past years, the size of the fleet has doubled from 15 to 30 vessels. With the innovative and dynamic projects, they are in the vanguard of their market. Examples of these projects include the use of LNG (liquid natural gas) as fuel and vessels for LNG shipments. In addition to the recent expansion of our European fleet, there also many opportunities for LNG shipments in other areas of the world, for example in Indonesia and the Caribbean. We are seeking an SHEQ Officer to support this growth.


A good SHEQ department is essential if the safety policy has to be conveyed to all the vessels and improve safety and environmental awareness on board. You have an important duty in this department: you support and advise the organization on safety awareness and on health, environmental and quality issues.

Your core assignment in this position is to develop and maintain the safety culture. You are a people person that loves to interact. With that you take initiative to continuously improve the safety culture which includes our manning agencies. Also, you contribute to safety on board our vessels by conducting audits, sharing knowledge, investigating incidents and advising the crew.

In addition

  • You visit and sail on the vessels to conduct audits;
  • You carry out safety culture assessments throughout the company;
  • You answer questions about safety raised by the officers and crew on the vessels;
  • You investigate and report on incidents;
  • You give safety, environmental and quality training courses on board the vessels and in the office;
  • You implement new and future regulations;

Functie eisen

  • You have completed a Degree in safety of equal and have relevant work experience within the safety offshore or maritime industry;
  • You have an affinity with transport, safety and the environment ;
  • You are prepared to travel and to sail on our vessels, on average between the 30 and 40 days a year;
  • You are accurate and you are a team player;
  • You have a good verbal and written command of English;
  • You have excellent communications skills;
  • A nautical background will be an advantage.
